The visa was meant for the business people who intended to travel to Australia for short business visits and not to work In Australia. You could only be eligible for Sponsored business visitor (short stay) visa (subclass 459) if you were intending to travel to Australia for short business visit and you were sponsored. Once the visa expires you were not in a place to apply for your visa to be extended.
